Ok, just want to address this because I still see this being passed around and it pisses me of so hard it actually makes me want to bleed out of my ears.

YES. This episode exists. It is called ‘Blue Cat Blues’ and it came out in 1956
YES. It shows Tom depressed and contemplating suicide on a railtrack after his dream girl runs off with another man, and later Jerry joins him after the same thing happens to him.
NO, it was NEVER THE ‘LAST EPISODE’ OF ANY TOM AND JERRY SERIES
Hell, it wasn’t even the last episode of the year it was released.
If people actual used their brains they would realise that this episode is clearly older than the new Tom and Jerry shows. There were at least 3 more years of Hanna/Barbera era toons after this one, then you get into the Chuck Jones and Gene Deitch eras. There is no evidence that I can find anywhere of Blue Cat Blues being the ‘last’ episode of Tom and Jerry, or that Hanna/Barbera were planning on finishing the show’s run on this episode.
I’m so sick of people passing this around and going ‘whyyyy did they kill off Tom and Jerry MY CHILDHOOD IS DYIIING’.
Don’t believe every little ‘fact’ on a black background that you see on social networking sites. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
This might seem like not a big deal but it’s a great example of how something worded badly or without sources to back it up can give people completely the wrong information. I’m am sure there are people out there who believe this fact is true and it upsets them greatly. And that’s awful.
